Terms and Conditons

  • A completed registration form, a photo of the vaccination record(s) and a 25% deposit is required within 48 hours of booking to reserve the kennel(s) for your cat(s)/dog(s). This deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled in writing (email or WhatsApp message) up until one calendar month before the drop off date. Bookings will be confirmed via email once the form and deposit have been received.

  • Boarding fees are charged to include the day of arrival and departure, regardless of the time of drop off and collection. This ensures there is enough time for disinfection of the kennel between boarders.

  • All cats must arrive and leave in a secure carrier and dogs must be kept on a lead when taken out of the car and brought into reception.

  • A note of the final balance due will be sent on the morning of the day of collection and this amount must be paid in full before collection or the pet can’t be released by the kennel staff. We do not accept cheques.

  • We encourage you to bring something with you for your pet that smells of home, e.g. a small blanket, however any items left by the owner with the pet are left at the owner’s risk, including bedding, toys etc.

  • Dogs must be fully up to date with their yearly vaccinations including kennel cough (canine distemper virus, infectious canine hepatitis virus, canine parvovirus, Leptospirosis and Bordetella bronchiseptica). The primary course of vaccination must have been completed at least four weeks before the first date of boarding. You must bring their vaccination certificate(s) with you or we cannot accept your dog(s).

  • Cats must be fully up to date with their yearly vaccinations (feline calicivirus, feline rhinotracheitis virus, feline panleucopaenia virus and feline leukaemia virus). The primary course of vaccination must have been completed at least four weeks before the first date of boarding. You must bring their vaccination certificate(s) with you or we cannot accept your cat(s).

  • All pets must have been recently treated for fleas, ticks and worms before staying with us. Any veterinary fees that result from preventable parasites will be the responsibility of the owner.

  • If your cat/dog has any medical conditions then you must make us aware of them when you drop your pet off. If they are on medication then sufficient quantity for the length of their stay must be brought with you in their original containers with veterinary labels on the containers, along with full instructions as to when and how the medication is to be administered. There is no additional charge for administering medication.

  • If in the fortnight prior to boarding your pet is ill with a condition that you haven’t previously declared to us then you must notify us within 24 hours of being aware of that condition.

  • You agree to us taking your cat/dog to the vet if we feel that there is sufficient need for them to see a vet. Wherever possible we will attend your usual veterinary practice or, if we do for whatever reason have to take them to our nominated veterinary practice (A&G Vets in Bonnybridge), we will liaise with your vets at the earliest opportunity. You will be liable for the veterinary fees for any condition not covered by our kennel insurance. We strongly suggest that you have your pets insured before boarding them with us.

  • Early collections are permitted; however, the remaining days are still chargeable.

  • If you can’t collect on the appointed date then we ask that you contact us as soon as you are aware of the need to extend the booking. If we can accommodate an extended stay then we will. Failure to collect on the appointed date will result in additional fees being charged. If you haven’t contacted us to extend the booking then we will attempt to contact you or your emergency contact. If no communication has been received from the owner within 7 days of the booked collection date, then we will have to assume that the pet has been abandoned and they may be rehomed.

  • For any multi-dog or cat households we reserve the right to separate them and house them in separate kennels if necessary.

  • We will make every effort to ensure that your pet(s) have a relaxed enjoyable stay at Burnside Pet Retreat. In the unlikely event that we feel that your pet is unsuited to our boarding environment then we reserve the right to refuse to continue to board them. This is to ensure the health and safety of our team and all the pets in our care.

  • If for any reason the facilities are not available, unsuitable for boarding or we don’t have the staff to provide the service, then we will contact you before you drop your pet(s) off and refund your deposit in full. We will not be liable for any claim for loss or damage by you as a result of us having to cancel your booking.

  • While every care will be given to your pet(s) while they are staying with us, they are boarded at your own risk.
